A visit from Korea
On Wednesday, we had a visit from Yonggin Kim from Chungbuk University in Korea. Together, he and HRW FabLab founder Prof. Dr. Michael Schäfer signed the application for a joint project. If the project is approved, we would like to take on the topic of robot development together. Especially adaptive and assistive robots. We believe that both countries can benefit from each other and that we work together on research. Together we can conduct research on robots and also organize workshops.
Yonggin Kim has a makerspace in Korea, but is currently spending a science year in Germany, which will make the exchange easier. Other partners in the project are Aixpath from Aachen and Robocare from Korea. We are combining know-how from software development, the construction of robots and the knowledge of how to produce low-cost prototypes. It was great that Yonggin visited us on Wednesday and that we were able to give him a tour of our lab. Our laboratories have known each other for some time, but we have never been able to see each other in person, which has finally changed. We hope that this project is the start of a great collaboration between the labs in Korea and Germany!
Michael Schäfer signed the application on behalf of the HRW for: Prof. Dr. Jan M. Pawlowski, Prof. Dr. Simone Roth, Prof. Dr. Aysegül Dogangün, Prof. Dr. Marc Stauner, Julia Hermann, Stefanie Sell, Anna Brokuf and Kerstin Ogrissek.
