Quantum Minilabs at Breaking Lab

Quantum Minilabs at Breaking Lab

You probably know the YouTube channel Breaking Lab, right? We had the great honor of having Jacob and his team visit us at the HRW FabLab in May to get to know our Quantum Minilabs project.

Prof. Dr. Michael Schäfer gave Jacob a tour of the lab, explained our vision to him and presented the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space funding line “quantum aktiv - Outreach concepts and open innovation for quantum technologies”.
And always with an eye on the key issue of skills shortages. Because quantum research in particular lacks well-trained personnel who are keen to take on the second quantum revolution.

Marina Peters from Münster University of Applied Sciences did a great job representing Quantum Minilabs and showed Jacob our Minilab kits. What's special is that you can use the kits to manipulate a QuBit at room temperature. This is unique in this form! You can also use the Quantum Minilab Kit to carry out a total of nine different quantum research experiments: Michelson Interferometer, Mach Zehnder Interferometer, Quantum Eraser, BB84, Malus' Law, Rotating Polarization with Polarizing Filter, Interference on Gratings and Slits, ODMR/Zeeman Effect, Coherent Control.

We are very proud of the video and would like to thank everyone who contributed to it. Special thanks goes to the BMFTR for making the video possible.

Part of our project is to equip 100 educational institutions in Germany with the kits to give as many people as possible access to quantum research.
