New Project at the HRW Fablab: Fab.Future Ruhr Launches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are pleased to announce that an exciting new project is launching here at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences: \u201cFab.Future Ruhr.\u201d Together with the Makerspace at Ruhr University Bochum and Kulturforum Witten A\u00f6R, we are working to provide new impetus for innovation in the Ruhr region and to strengthen a future-oriented culture of innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us at the Fablab, this means one thing above all else: more opportunities for you. As part of the project, we actively contribute our workshop, technologies, and expertise, and work together with you, researchers, and companies to develop new ideas and solutions. Fablabs and makerspaces play a central role in this process because they allow initial ideas to quickly turn into early prototypes. At the same time, \u201cFab.Future Ruhr\u201d is all about bringing together different perspectives. Close collaboration between academia, business, and the cultural and creative sectors gives rise to new approaches to current challenges. This exchange is particularly evident in the Fablab, where people from various fields come together, learn from one another, and work on ideas collaboratively. Another key component of the project is building a strong network in the Ruhr region. This involves not only creating a digital platform, but also specifically strengthening and further developing the makerspace community in the region. The goal is to better connect makerspaces and fablabs, raise their profile, and establish them as a shared innovation infrastructure. At the same time, we\u2019re creating a platform to help you find suitable makerspaces and fablabs and connect with others. You can also look forward to new formats like workshops, hackathons, and co-creation events where you can share and develop your ideas. Using creative methods such as speculative design, ideas for the future are not merely conceived but translated, step by step, into real prototypes. That is precisely what makes it so appealing: experimenting, thinking ahead, and bringing innovation to life together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are thrilled to be implementing this project at the Fablab and are excited to see what comes of it. The project is funded under the \u201cRegio.NRW \u2013 Transformation\u201d funding program by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, using funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).\nThe project contacts are Julia Krayer and Prof. Dr. Michael Sch\u00e4fer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
