Cook.3D, under the umbrella of the interregional project Food2020, is a project with the aim of building a new and innovative food 3D printer.  

The innovation lies in the extruding system which allowed the printed material (pasty foods) to never get in touch with mechanical parts. This is possible through the use of modified peristaltic pumps. 

The first prototype is produced and working, but it is only the first stage: much more features will be implemented. Sensors to control the food flow very precisely will be added to make Cook.3D more automated and user friendly. A cooking area and features to make it smarter (such as vocal command) will be added. Other goals in mind are: multi-nozzle extrusion, to have layered dishes; personalized dishes regarding nutritional values; and many others.
